| Watched the Clifford Ball DVD Friday and Saturday. Setlists following highlights. DAY1 SET1: (Chalkdust, Gin, Ya Mar, AC/DC Bag, Esther, Divided Sky, Hailey's Comet->David Bowie) Bathtub gin, Ya Mar (ending here was head-e!), AC/DC bag, and the Bowie. SET2: (Split open and Melt, Sparkle, Free, The Squirming Coil, Waste, Talk, Train Song, Strange Design, Hello my Baby, Mikes Song->Simple->Contact->Weekapaug Groove) SOAM (HUGE OPEN), Free, Squirming Coil (page was mesmerising, like always), Mikes song->Simple->Contact->Weekapaug was full hose. SET3: (Makisupa Policeman=>2001=>Down with Disease>NICU, Life on Mars?, Harry Hood. ENCORE: Amazing Grace. HOLY SHIT! Makisupa->2001->DWD!!!!!! HUGEEEE. THE DOWN WITH DISEASE HERE IS EPIC. Harry Hood to close out the set with a killer fireworks show/jam to the ending of hooooood. DAY2 SET1: (The old place home, Punch you in the Eye, Reba->Cars Trucks Buses, The Lizards, Sample in a Jar, Taste, Fee -> Maze, Suzy Greenberg) REBA! It's a masterpiece here, no whistling at the end and it still clocked in at 16:19, segway into CTB, which was perfect placement. The lizards was standard.. Sample in a Jar (Fishman and Page duel here..) definitely an interesting piece, Fee was just a set-up for a SUPER HEADY MAZE, This maze justifies the Maze>Bowie groups, as it's mind-blowing and nothing short of complete hose, and Suzy of course, while nothing close to maze always a nice treat as I can't get enough of Page going ballistic on the piano... PAGE MCNASTY! SET2: (The Curtain, Runaway Jim, It's Ice, Brother, Fluffhead, Run Like an Antelope, Golgi Apparatus, Slave to the Traffic Light.) This set was all pretty good, Phish had an acrobat on stage for antelope who put on a pretty good show, things started to get out of control at the end of antelope for her, haha. I enjoyed the Slave in particular, easily the MVP of the set, it was amazing... probably one of the best ever, period. SET3: (Wilson, Frankenstein, Scent of a Mule, Tweezer, A day in the Life, Possum =>Tweezer Reprise. ENCORE: Harpua....) Wilson was fun, one of my personal favorite openers, this one included a Heartbreaker tease. Scent of a mule was an interesting piece.. with page and fishman dueling it out. TWEEZER! It was a standard tweeza, they had trampolines next to the stage on both sides, which was kind of cool i guess, i would've rather had the camera's on trey the whole time if it was my choice though. Possum>Tweeprise was a fun treat, they had a stunt plane flying around overhead during the tweeprise, the camera work was kind of weak though trying to capture this. Also.. Harpua encore instead of the tweeprise, It was interesting... unfinished as trey put his guitar down while on loop, and walked off stage. Followed by the rest of the band, one by one. Watched some of the bonus footage, saw the Flatbed Jam, and there was a Clay sighting in the one clip. That kid is everywhere, seriously. What a great show! So glad i got to sit down to watch it this weekend. |
